Dontrelle Willis won without his best stuff — again. Willis struggled through 6 1-3 innings, Miguel Cabrera had a career-best five hits and Josh Willingham hit a three-run homer in Florida’s 11-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night. Nationals 4, Phillies 2 (AP)
Finally healthy, Shawn Hill is pitching like an ace. Hill pitched eight-plus innings, Dmitri Young homered and the Washington Nationals snapped Philadelphia’s five-game winning streak with a 4-2 win on Thursday. Aaron Rowand hit a solo shot for the Phillies to extend his career-best hitting streak to 14 games.

Phillies recall Castro, option Smith (AP)
The Philadelphia Phillies recalled left-hander Fabio Castro from Triple-A Ottawa to replace the struggling Matt Smith. Castro was 2-0 with a 3.24 ERA in six appearances for Ottawa. Smith, acquired in the trade that sent Bobby Abreu to the New York Yankees last July, was sent to Ottawa to regain his control.

Wes Helms drove in the go-ahead run with a single in a three-run eighth inning to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to their fourth straight win, 6-3 over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night. Antonio Alfonseca (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth, and Tom Gordon worked the ninth for his fourth save in six chances.
